Localmusiclesson.co.uk is always looking for excellent music teachers to join our teaching team and network across all areas of the UK. LML is proud to have been part of a family run business that is celebrating 10 years in 2016. Put simply – you can trust that LML knows what it is doing and you can trust us.
Localmusiclesson.co.uk is a specialist music school for students wanting low cost tuition in the home or studio of a nearby music teacher. The student or parent completes a request form on our website and decides if they would like to book with an appropriate teacher near to them. If they decide they would like to start tuition, they fill out a booking form that is emailed and text to that teacher by our automated booking system. That teacher then completes arrangements at the current agreed music school price. All the details of the booking are provided and the student or parent will have seen the prices prior to booking.
Finding new students for any self-employed music teacher is a really hard part of being a music teacher. We use our vast experience of finding students and marketing to find new leads for all teachers that are with us. You then pay a commission to us for this service. This commission is much lower than most other services as we do not employ staff and the website is the shop front for new students and bookings.
Your role is to complete new bookings as swiftly and professionally as possible. It is then to provide quality tuition in your home studio or home environment. You can teach using your own materials, for examination or for pleasure as the student requires.
You must have a DBS check or be willing to obtain one (around £50). We will guide you with this as appropriate. This process usually takes under a week but can be longer in some rare cases. You can also now keep your DBS current by subscribing to the DBS Update Service for a small annual fee. This means your new certificate would always be up-to-date, not just for us, but other organisations. More details on this can be found on the DBS website.
You must also have qualifications or experience in your musical instrument that can be demonstrated through a CV or our application form.
What do you pay? £18 per hour after commission paid to the music school for students found. Students pay you directly using the payment method of your choice.
What is your contract like? To view our contract, please download the following document – LMLcontract. We expect all our teachers to adhere to the contract at all times which is standard practice in music schools and other tutoring business.
The next steps are that you email us your CV, completed application and DBS (if you have one) to our Managing Director and Lead Teacher, kevinsmith@primavolta.co.uk. We will contact you in due course if you have been successful. We regret to inform you we do not contact individuals who are not successful.
